If there’s one ‘it’ item that you need this autumn, it has to be the check blazer. We love its versatility and no doubt about it, it has become one of the most hard-working items in our everyday wardrobes. Gone are the days when the checked blazer made us think of boring workwear for the office, it has earned the status of fashion must-have, and rightly so. Here’s how to get maximum mileage out of this womenswear jacket, whether you already have one of your own or if you are thinking of buying a check blazer before the leaves start falling.
1. Top-to-Toe Neutrals
One of the easiest ways to get that polished look at the moment is by embracing the top-to-toe tonal trend. We’d recommend playing around with various shades of the same colour or even mixing textures. For a look that's easy and styled at the same time, team our satin pleated skirt (it's a must-have and it comes in various colours) with an oversized hoodie, trainers and –you guessed– a checked blazer.
2. Check on Check
A bit daunting, we know, but when it comes to pairing checks together there are no rules, we do, however, have some handy tips: stick to neutral tones or play around with various check sizes. To elevate the look add a pair of delicate strappy heels and you’ve got the perfect look to step out of summer and into autumn.
3. Sophisticated 70s
They say opposites attract and we say that this also applies to fashion. Have you thought about teaming your tailored blazer with a printed maxi dress? With the change of weather approaching, we’ve taken to layering dresses with roll neck jumpers and elevating our look with matching accessories to embrace that 70s feel.
6. Autumn Utility Layers
Do you love a good jumpsuit? We do, too. And there’s more that you can wear with them than just accessories. Dress up your jumpsuit with a slogan T-shirt to give it a new lease of life. To finish things off just add a checked blazer and a pair of buckled ankle boots for ease.
