Well, right now, we’ve got some easy-to-make tipples for you try out from the comfort of your own home – and they’re too cute not to show off on the 'gram. Expect to see a simple twist on a classic you know and love, a feel-good fruity find, and a special recipe that’s totally worthy of a hangover day (you’re welcome!).

So, Zoom call your pals, raise a glass and toast to the VE Day and bank holiday you deserve. Here are the 3 cocktails tickling our taste buds and getting us in the mood to pour it up this weekend…

1. The Pimm’s Cup

When longer evenings arrive, it means one thing and one thing only - Pimm’s cup cocktails. Lots of them. Yes, this Kent-produced beverage is best enjoyed outside with friends, but you can still bring that same energy to your home. Plus, think of all the £££ you’ll save. Yus!

1 3-inch piece cucumber, cut into 1/2-inch slices, plus 2 spears (for garnish)
3/4 cup Pimm's
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Ice cubes
2 sprigs each fresh rosemary, thyme, and mint
2 lemon slices
2 fresh strawberries, halved
Ginger beer, chilled

How to make it:

Place 1/2-inch-thick cucumber slices in cocktail shaker. Using muddler or handle of wooden spoon, mash well. Add Pimm's, lemon juice, and sugar. Fill 2 pilsner glasses with ice; set aside. Add ice to Pimm's mixture, cover, and shake vigorously 20 times. Strain into glasses. Push 1 rosemary sprig, 1 thyme sprig, 1 mint sprig, 1 lemon slice, and 2 strawberry halves down into each glass. Fill glasses with ginger beer. Garnish with cucumber.

2. The Espresso Martini

If coffee’s your thing, we’ve got the ideal cocktail for you: an espresso martini. Believe it or not, this drink was invented by Dick Bradsell in the 80s in Soho, London. Legend has it that Kate Moss walked up to Dick and asked “Can you please make something that will wake me up and then f**k me up?" and so the espresso martini was invented. 37 years later and it's still at the top of the menu... we'll take x3.

40 ml vodka of choice
20 ml Kahlúa
20 ml espresso
3 Whole coffee bean for garnish. (Optional)

How to make it:

Fill a shaker with ice cubes. Add all ingredients. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with coffee beans. Top tip: Prepare the espresso coffee beforehand and let it chill. That will help to minimize the dilution, make your drink colder and even tastier!

3. Gin & Tonic With A Twist

Are you even celebrating if you haven’t had gin? From virtual to IRL parties, every plan should start with this liquor (it’s actually been a British fave since the 17th century). But, if you’re looking to switch things up a little year, take a peep at this recipe…

60ml gin of choice
30ml elderflower liqueur
1 lime wedge
A splash of tonic water

How to make it:

Fill a lowball glass with ice.Pour in gin and elderflower liqueur. Squeeze lime wedge into glass and top with tonic water. Stir and serve with garnish of choice.
